At first sight.

By the time I was a junior in high school in Southern California, I knew what I wanted to be: a graphic designer. At 19, I had saved up enough money to buy a Mac clone tower, back when Apple was selling their licenses to smaller computer companies, plus a giant used computer monitor and got a bootleg copy of Illustrator, Photoshop 5 and QuarkXpress on a zip drive from a friend. I said to a classmate, “man, the permutations of design outputs are endless!” I remember thinking how cool Kai’s Power Tools were. That decision to work hard on learning, honing those drawing skills, the long nights working on projects, it felt exciting as equally daunting, like climbing this enormous creative mountain.

Years later, I still feel grateful that I chose an industry that I still feel very passionate and curious about and am lucky that I stayed laser focused on my dream.

If you are interested in seeing some of my design work in-depth, please drop a line and say hi.
